2 Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams

2x DVC 4Ξ© β†’ 1 Ohm Load

Wire each sub in parallel (2Ξ© each), then wire both subs in parallel to the amp.

1 OHM FINAL

2x DVC 2Ξ© β†’ 2 Ohm Load

Wire each sub in series (4Ξ© each), then wire both subs in parallel to the amp.

2 OHM FINAL

2x DVC 4Ξ© β†’ 4 Ohm Load

Wire each sub in series (8Ξ© each), then wire both subs in parallel to the amp.

4 OHM FINAL

2x DVC 2Ξ© β†’ 4 Ohm Load

Wire each sub in series (4Ξ© each), then wire both subs in series to the amp.

🚨

Don’t wire below your amp’s limit!

If your amp is only stable to 2-ohms and you wire your subs to 1-ohm, you will trigger protect mode, overheat the amp, or fry the internal circuitry. Always check your amp’s birth sheet or manual before finalizing your wiring.

πŸ“‹ Quick Reference: Common Wiring Configurations

1 SVC 4Ξ©: 4Ξ© load (single sub)
1 DVC 2Ξ© (parallel): 1Ξ© load
1 DVC 4Ξ© (parallel): 2Ξ© load
1 DVC 2Ξ© (series): 4Ξ© load
2 DVC 4Ξ© (parallel): 1Ξ© load
2 DVC 2Ξ© (series/parallel): 2Ξ© load
2 DVC 4Ξ© (series): 4Ξ© load
2 SVC 4Ξ© (parallel): 2Ξ© load

❓ Wiring Wizard FAQ

Does wiring change power handling?

No. Wiring only changes the load (impedance) the amp sees. Your subwoofer’s RMS rating stays the same regardless of how it’s wired.

What’s Series vs Parallel?

Series adds resistance (higher ohms). Parallel divides resistance (lower ohms). Series: + to -, + to -. Parallel: all + together, all – together.

Can I mix different subs?

Not recommended. Mixing impedances causes uneven power distribution and can damage your amp. Always use identical subs.

Why use DVC subs?

Dual Voice Coil subs give you flexibility to achieve different final impedances with the same sub, letting you match almost any amp.
